Following a letter to the Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen, from Asia for Animals Coalition—consisting of 177 animal rights and welfare organizations around the world—sent on May 22nd, 2020, another letter flood is planned for July 31st.
We interviewed Mukul Nagpaul, a fitness coach, animal rights activist, and extreme sportsman from India. He had come to compete in Ironman Gurye in South Korea. However, this race was cancelled for safety reasons due to Typhoon Tapah.
We held a three-day “Dog Farm in the Street” campaign from Friday April 19th until Sunday April 21st, in Hongdae, Gangnam, and Gwanghwamun respectively, as part of our ongoing campaign to end dog farms and the dog meat industry in South Korea.

Our international conference for banning dog meat consumption, titled ‘Dog Meat Free Korea 2017,’ was held in the National Assembly Library, Seoul on November 24th.
On Friday September 22nd, we held a counter-protest in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, against the Korean Dog Meat Traders Association who were demonstrating to have dog meat and dog farming legalized.
On the 11th of August, we held a “STOP! THE KILLING” performance event in Seoul Plaza in front of Seoul City Hall. It was the last of our Bok Nal (the three hottest days of summer) campaign events, the 11th of August being the last of the hottest summer days (called “mal bok” in Korean) in 2017.
On 17th August, a video was taken in the Gupo district of Busan. In the video, a dog was being brutally dragged along public streets by a pipe to which it was tightly bound from Gupo station to Gupo Market—a distance of about 1km. The dog was trying to untie the rope, and during his struggles, his skin was lacerated and claws were damaged.
The Stop It 2017 festival held on July 9th at Seoul Plaza in front of Seoul City Hall was a roaring success, despite the occasional downpour.
We support organizations that rescue, shelter, and rehome abused and abandoned animals in East and Southeast Asia.
