The Wagoneer returned in 2022 with a good-looking full-size three-row SUV that was designed to compete in the luxury market segment. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine that delivers impressive performance, with rear-wheel drive standard and a variety of four-wheel-drive systems on offer. It has room for a full crew with plenty of cargo, and the interior is nicely appointed.
Check Wagoneer stock was called the Custom, and it had steel wheels with hubcaps, a simple woodgrain exterior, an AM/FM radio with a CD player, air conditioning, power front disc brakes, and a roof rack. A more luxurious model was the Limited, which featured a two-barrel 360 cu in (5.9 L) AMC V8, Quadra-Trac, power windows, air conditioning, a premium sound system with eight Jensen speakers, and tan or cordovan upholstery.
How the Wagoneer compares to other full-size SUVs
By comparison, the newest Grand Wagoneer offers more passenger and cargo space, a higher level of off-road capability, and a more modern interior with power-folding mirrors, an eight-way power driver’s seat, nappa leather upholstery, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. It also has a power tailgate window, an upgraded interior trim package, and more chrome exterior accents.
For those with a dark side, the available Carbide Package adds Gloss Black badging and 20-inch Gloss Black wheels. This upgrade is an easy way to set your Wagoneer apart from the crowd. There’s also the Jeep Wave Owner loyalty program that provides a variety of premium benefits like worry-free maintenance, vehicle protection and dedicated owner support.
