Poppy, rescued from under a pile of filth under a dog farm cage, has already been adopted, and an illegal dog farm in Gwangmyeong City has been demolished.

Poppy Adopted

Poppy, the kitten rescued from under a pile of filth under a dog farm cage, has already found a new family.

She had been fostered by an individual activist while recovering and regaining her strength until she was adopted by her forever family.

We would like to thank everyone who showed an interest in adopting Poppy—unfortunately there was only one of her—as well as to her new family.

We hope you have many happy years together.

Gwangmyeong Dog Farm Demolished

Earlier in the year, we had rescued 14 dogs from a dog farm in Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. As was all too common in these situations, the dogs were kept in horrific conditions, and fed maggot-ridden food waste.

5 of the rescued dogs are being looked after at our shelter. The remaining 9 were transferred to the Gwangmyeong City shelter.

After the rescue, we met with representatives of Gwangmyeong City municipality and the landowner in order to permanently close the farm.

On June 29, we tore down all of the cages. No dog will ever have to suffer and die a brutal death in that place.

We continue to locate illegal dog farms and slaughterhouses, report them to the police,  rescue the animals incarcerated in them, and shut them down, to bring an end to the horrific dog meat industry in South Korea and throughout the world.
